Liquid losses cause drop in productivity. The body loses daily approx. 2,5 liters of water over the kidneys, skin and the intestine. These loss of water must be equalized daily through liquid input, to regulate the normal bodily water supply.

At strenuousing activities (example: hard work, sport etc.) loses the body over the skin in addition at fluid (sweating). This increased loss must be equalized likewise again, so that our performance does not takes off. Who therefore for instance during the day sport pursues, should take to the normal liquid input at least between 1 and 2 liter of fluid to itself, whereby the quantity rises according to athletic burden and perseverance.

The body reacts to the loss of water somewhat more slowly. This has to the consequence, that the actual need of liquid is already large, as our thirst feeling indicates this. Decisive is therefore the right way of drinking, particularly at bodily efforts how for instance at the sport.

Before the start: (10-30 min before beginning of athletic activities) 400 - 600 ml (provision of the body with fluid).

During the sport: (all 15 - 20 min) 150 - 200 ml (for the maintenance of the liquid level).

After the sport: 300 - 500 ml (filling of fluid and carbohydrate.
